Congratulations
Many congratulations to our recently qualified new ADCRG, adjudicator Michael Hopkins from Limerick. Michael is also the teacher of the Hopkins school of Irish Dancing. Michael had a very successful dancing career in schools in London and Dublin.
Many congratulations to our recently qualified new TCRG, teacher Melissa Keane from Limerick. Melissa had a very sucessful dancing career with the Fleming-Ball SD.
Many congratulations to our recently qualified new TCRG, teacher Bernadette Flynn from Tipperary. What can we say about Bernadette's dancing career? Won countless World, All Ireland and other Major championships. For those too young to remember that far back, she was of course one of the stars of Lord of the Dance. Bernadette danced for the late Doreen Brown TCRG/ADCRG.
Notes to Teachers and Dancers:
1. Oireachtas na hEireann, All-Ireland 2009.
There will be an additional team competition. This will be a Ceili Championship under 10 which will have both mixed and unmixed teams.
2. Oireachtas na Cruinne 2009 (Philadelphia)
For those wishing to enter teams for the World Championships 2009, the entries must be received by An Coimisiun by September 29th 2008.
3. Oireachtas na Mumhan 2008
As a follow on from note number 1 above, there will be a Ceili Championship under 9 at this years Munster Championships where mixed and unmixed teams will compete together.
4. Wearing Black Tights
The rule that was to be introduced regarding senior dancers wearing black tights has now been cancelled.

Congratulations to all the competitors who competed at this years Mini-Munsters competitions that were held in the SouthCourt Hotel last week-end.
Great credit is due to dancers, teachers and parents for the way the dancers were turned out, performed and co-operated with the organisers.
Also, many thanks to our fine panel of adjudicators and musicians. The adjudicator panel was made up of Aine Ni She from Dublin, Mairin Cunniffe from Galway and Gerard McQuaid from Cavan. The musicians were Sean O'Brien from Australia / London (and adopted Munster), Miceal Gleeson from Cork, Darren Checkley from Birmingham and Paul O'Donnell from Armagh.

Finally, many thanks to all the Comhairle na Mumhan members who gave up their holiday week-end and worked so hard over the two days to make the event a success. Also thanks to those who put in weeks and months of work in advance with planning and organising the event and taking the entries.
