Qualifying Oireachtas
QUALIFYING OIREACHTAS A dancer must compete in the qualifying Oireachtas Rince of the region in which he or she normally lives. It is therefore the place of normal residence of the dancer and not the place of residence of the teacher or the venue of the class attended that determines the qualifying Oireachtas in which the dancer may compete. When there is a doubt as to what should be regarded as the normal place of residence, for example, in the case of a student living away from home., the matter should be referred to An Coimisiun for a ruling. A dancer must not however compete in a solo event at more than one Regional Oireachtas in the same year.
